Doug Auclair was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts in August of 1983. His family moved to Rhode Island when he was 6 years old, he grew up and currently resides in RI.

When he was a kid, like all of us, he wanted to be something when he grew up. Besides Indiana Jones his list was short:

• Pilot

When Doug was in high school he was told by his guidance counselor that the only way to become a pilot was to join the military and then transition into civilian aviation that way. After scoring well on the ASVAB he went to talk to the local recruiters only to be told that due to less than stellar grades that he was not selected for the pilot training program and that he could enlist and work his way up to flying jets. He may have been young, but did not think it worked that way.

After the essential crushing of his childhood dream of being a pilot, Doug enrolled at the New England Institute of Technology to study Internet Communications Technology. He was hired out of school as a graphic designer for a nationally renowned paintball company. Along with working for the company he had begun playing paintball as a hobby in high school and quickly found himself among the high ranks of players in the region and playing on the professional circuit. After 5 years of playing professional paintball and working a "desk job" Doug decided that he was unhappy in his current endeavor, and while sitting on a flight home from Tampa airport decided that he was going to do whatever it took to become a pilot.

In late 2005 Doug left the graphic design world and retired from professional paintball to start his flight training in October, he earned his private pilots license December 18th 2005.

He completed his Commercial pilot training in August of 2007 and started flight instructing in January of 2008.

Since then Doug has given thousands of hours of flight instruction. He holds a 100% FAA Practical test pass rate and offers some of the highest quality flight instruction available in the country. He has a passion for small airplanes.

Doug has an extensive amount of experience in cross country, actual instrument, international and non-standard flight operations. He has delivered airplanes throughout the country, flown on the Ice Runways of the North and traversed the Rocky Mountains to the west. All at your disposal should you choose to fly with him.

Doug is very proud of his accomplishments. He currently resides in beautiful Providence Rhode Island and lives with his two dogs, when he is not flying he enjoys Scuba, Camping & Hiking, Boating, working on & riding Mopeds, Lawn Games, and meeting new people and having adventures.

His services are available for hire anywhere in the country.
